Who Can Be Accepted?

Growth and change are not always easy; in fact, it is sometimes very difficult…but it is possible, and can be very rewarding.

Girls between the ages of 13 and 19 are eligible to become residents of this transition program. Girls directed to our services are usually seen as “at risk,” due to a family crisis or behavioral/emotional problems. Some of the indicating behaviors of the “at risk” girl in this age range include running away from home, suicide attempts, truancy, sexually acting out, or alcohol/drug abuse.

REFERRALS
Referrals to WICS come from different sources such as probation, DHHS, and private placement agencies throughout Nebraska. Referrals are reviewed by the executive director on a case by case basis and evaluated for appropriateness of placement.
